MEMBERS BEVERLY DURAND AND ALDRIN GONZALEZ TEACH SWING MASTER CLASS AT NY HEALTH and
RACQUET CLUB
Featured cast members Beverly Durand and Aldrin Gonzalez, from the hit Broadway musical
SWING!, will teach a West Coast Swing Master Class at NY Health and Racquet Club (110 West
56th Street), Monday, April 17 at 8:00PM, continuing their 2000 Broadway Dance Series. Of
their performance in SWING!, Michael Feingold of the Village Voice exclaimed, "The
dancers sizzle - Beverly Durand and Aldrin Gonzalez made me gape with amazement most
often."
The Master Class is a low impact workout choreographed with the smooth style of Disco and
Jazz moves and incorporating the basics of Swing dance, West Coast style. Members will
groove to the latest tunes from the original cast album of SWING!
Beverly Durand is a three-time U.S. Open Swing Championship award-winner for West Coast
Swing. She has been dancing for over twenty years, trained in ballet, tap and modern, and
now focuses on partner dancing. She starred in For ever Tango on Broadway and on its
international tour and was seen throughout the US and Canada in Tango Vivo! She starred in
the PBS special "Tango Magic" and was featured in "A Welk Musical
Christmas." She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental/Occupational Health.
Aldrin Gonzalez has appeared on Broadway in Guys & Dolls and in Ziegfeld Follies of
1936 at City Center Encores! His tours include Beauty and the Beast and A Chorus Line
(National) and West Side Story (European). He has danced in major venues across the
country, including New York City Opera, Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular and
the Paper Mill Playhouse.
SWING! opened at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street) on December 9 to rave
reviews. SWING! is an all-singing, all-dancing musical celebration featuring world-class
swing dancers, a hot contemporary swing band and acclaimed jazz/pop singers, all cutting
loose to a mix of new and classic swing songs. The show features over 30 dance numbers
that reflect the current neo-swing dances sweeping the country today, embracing West
Coast, Country-Western, Latin and Traditional Swing dancing. For further information,

schedule: Tuesday-Saturday at 8PM; Wednesday and Saturday at 2PM and Sunday at 3PM.
