SWING!'
KICKS UP ITS HEELS WITH RESPECTABLE SHOWING

Spokane's Casey MacGill and
his pals at the Broadway show "Swing!" are feeling optimistic about the future
as this singin' and dancin' musical heads in to week No. 3.
The reviews have been
excellent (with the exception of a New York Times review which MacGill called
"brutal"). More important, the box office numbers are on a nice upward trend.
Attendance went up 17 percent during a week in which attendance went down at 32 out of 34
Broadway shows.
"Swing!" is ranked 15th out of the 34 shows for the week of Dec. 13-19, with an
average attendance of 81 percent of capacity. The ideal would be 100 percent, of course,
but 81 percent isn't bad for a show that is still new and relatively unknown.
