Encores! Borrows Swing!'s
Benanti for Wonderful Town

Swing! star Laura Benanti breaks from her role on Broadway at the St. James Theatre to perform in Encores! season finale, a production of the Leonard Bernstein, Adolph Green and Betty Comden musical, Wonderful Town. Benanti will appear in the City Center show May 3-7 before returning to Swing!.
Benanti joins Richard Muenz, Lewis J. Stadlen, David Aaron Baker, Gregory Jbara and Donna Murphy in Wonderful Town, which is the third and final production of City Center Encores! 2000 Season. Also featured in the cast are Becky Ann Baker, Alix Korey, Raymond Jaramillo Mcleod, Stephen Derosa, Patrick Quinn , Ray Wills, Jenny Hill and Steve Ryan.
Encores! artistic director Kathleen Marshall directs and choreographs the show. David Ives will adapt the book by Joseph Fields and Jerome Choderov. Encores! musical director Rob Fisher will conduct.
A post-performance discussion, open to the audience, follows the Sat. matinee on May 6.
